Maria McElroy - aroma M
Maria: Geisha Green, is a hypnotic metrosexual apéritif unlike anything in our oeuvre. Its key aroma is absinthe---the tart, licorice-flavored liqueur, which we’ve gently sweetened with black currant, mandarin, and violet, and softened with amber and tonka bean. Famed as an aphrodisiac, absinthe is also a legendary creativity enhancer. Baudelaire, Verlaine, Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, Picasso, and Hemingway all fell under its spell. Deliciously bracing and boozy licorice and sugared violets warmed and made creamy by amber and tonka. Sweet spring. And as Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge reminds us, indulging in la fée verte (the green fairy), as absinthe was known in Belle Époque Paris, had such a narcotic effect that cocktail time came to be called l'heure verte (the green hour) - a reference to the potion’s dazzling green color.
Dave: Deliciously bracing and boozy licorice and sugared violets warmed and made creamy by amber and tonka. Sweet spring.
Geisha Green Notes: Absinthe, black currant, violet, mandarin, amber, tonka.
